"Muslims in fact divide the world into two sectors: Dar-al-Islam (the House of Islam) and Dar-al-Harb (The House of War). The only countries considered to be at peace are those where Islamic law (the Sharia) is enforced. Islam does not recognize the right of any other religion or worldview to exist" (Peter Hammond, Slavery, Terrorism & Islam, p. 42).

No worldview that has any sense of self-ultimacy can logically "recognize the right of other religion[s] or worldview[s] to exist." That's NOT the problem with Islam. (In fact, THAT aspect of Islam seems refreshing to me in contrast to the limp-wristed, Western, modernist worldviews.)

Christianity (in it's purer forms) is no less intolerant of other worldviews than Islam. The pressing issue is WHAT folks holding to such worldviews are willing (or commanded) to do for the victory of that worldview. A good many Muslims are willing to murder, rape, pillage, be insatiable jerks for that victory. Over time, however, many Christians have been willing to do the same. In fact, we could point to numerous times throughout the Middle Ages when the Muslims were FAR easier on, say, Jews than Christians were.

The final question for Christians is not what has Christianity done, but is what does the Scripture say we ought to do to see the victory of Christ. By contrast, what are consistent Muslims willing to do to pursue Allah's victory?

Proud to be a bona fide life member of Dar el Harb. Yes indeed, we ARE at war against every high thing that exalts itself against the God of creation. But we also know it is a war that is already won, and so we can rest in that fact. Times past when some christians had engaged in the unsavoury behaviours mentioned by Mr. Prussic they'd forgot that bit. When one knows the war is fought in the heavenlies, one need not persue the sorts of conduct we see so rampant today in the moslem world.
