Kirk Cameron is on Piers Morgan tonight, and from what I hear, there were some edifying sparks. Check it out if you have a chance.

JimB  - Tail end of the segment  Friday, March 02, 2012 8:28 pm
Kirk did a great job - probably as well as that perspective can be expressed. But Piers's point near the end exposed the problem with trying to "reconcile" the biblical worldview with the "patriotic" one.

I won't articulate this properly - someone else probably can. But Piers was right - from a secular perspective, his freedom argument is difficult to argue against.

The fact is, it isn't about freedom. At least not the kind of freedom that Piers (i.e., the world) understands.

True biblical freedom is the freedom to be obedient to our Heavenly Father. Living that obedience is the freest we can be. Kirk would never be able to cover the necessary ground in a 15-minute (less actually) edited segment.

So I am glad that Kirk was able to communicate much of what he did, but someone watching from a humanist perspective would think that Piers "won" that debate with his final jab.

Sorry for all the quoting; my words are feeble.

Pastor Doug,

I saw photos this morning of devastation in Moscow, Idaho and just hope you and yours are all okay.

What kind of devastation?

There was a photo of a man cleaning up the debris from a tornado and the caption identified the location as Moscow, Idaho.

Melody -- That must have been mislabeled. It was in Moscow, Ohio.
